CHICAGO: India’s journey at the PSA World Squash Championship ended with a disappointment as Saurav Ghosal was eliminated by a third seed German player Simon Rosner making his first appearance in the quarterfinals by a score line of 11-8, 11-6, 11-7 here on Thursday.
The eleventh seeded Indian Player Saurav Ghosal was awestruck by a dazzling display by his opponent. The score line may have suggested that the contest was a one sided affair but it wasn’t meant to be as the match lasted up to 50 minutes between these competitors. There were some long rallies that tested both the player’s fitness levels. Though the game went as long as 50 minutes Saurav could only made his impact once that is in the first game where he lead the German 2-6. But the day was not on Saurav’s side as he was well beaten by a good all round performer Simon Rosner.
The result means India is completely out of the tournament as Saurav Ghosal was the last Indian player to remain in the competition.
