SCHOOLS FROM GHAZIABAD GETS’S READY FOR SSPF’s SCHOOLINDIA CUP
Ghaziabad, September 26, 2018: School India Cup, a Vital source in Ghaziabad for making Cricket a major sports in the district is set to start in the month of October. The official announcement was made through a press conference held at Delhi Public School, situated at Meerut road.
Objective behind organizing School’s India Cup is to find the future talents and to enhance their skills for the future. With 16 School teams expected to be participating in District level U-16 Cricket Championship, the competition is going to be a good one.
On the OccasionFormer Indian Cricketer and SSPF National Cricket Council Head, Mr. Chetan Sharma said, “Ghaziabad has shown a lot of potential in terms of cricket. Many Cricketers from Ghaziabad district has made a very decent impact on First Class Cricket, Suresh Raina is one of them. I hope through School’s India Cup Cricket Championship many Cricketers can make their way to the international level. Schools India cup will provide a platform for these talented cricketers to perform.”
During the event the Technical director of Schools India Cup season 3 Mr. Sanjay Bhardwaj stated, “SSPF is well known to support the game on a grassroots level. To achieve this, the school and the coach has given their 100%. To search and find a talent in a youngster, SSPF is a right platform for them. I congratulate all the participants for the cup.”
Also, thePrincipal of Delhi Public School Ghaziabad Society, Dr. Jyothi Gupta said, “I am glad that we are supporting the initiative by SSPF to increase the awareness of sports in Ghaziabad. SSPF organized Schools India Cup is a great initiative for the schools to participate and perform, which increases the morale of the youngsters.”
Players with the best records and the performances in the Schools India Cup will be selected by SSPF and sent to the National Camp where these players will be provided with free education and training.
School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF), is a non-profit philanthropic trust committee formed with the motive of promoting sports at schools, colleges and universities across India. In collaboration with Sports Authority of India (SAI), SSPF launched the National Talent Search and Nurture program in 2015 to identify sporting talent across sports and nurture them for national and international competitions. SSPF is the first independent initiative to receive the recognition from the Government of India and is also the largest grassroots school sports program in the country. The SSPF model for school sports is to encourage maximum sports participation in sports to all.
