FIVE MATCHES PLAYED IN KPL 5 ON WEEKEND
Elmech, KEI wires, EBS, Reindia and Kassanova emerged victorious in their respective matches played on Saturday and Sunday.

Ghaziabad: KPL 5‘s long season continued as 5 games were played on Saturday and Sunday at Mohan Meakins Ground Ghaziabad. Elmech Industry and Kei Wires were the winners on Saturday playing against Team VRC and Apex Floral respectively. On Sunday EBS played Argania in the first match, Reindia faced AIOL and Fighters XI took on Kassanova.
On Saturday, the first fixture to be played was between Elmech and Team Vrc. Batting first Elmech Industry’s Harry played an unbelievable knock of 112 runs in 68 deliveries. Harry’s innings included 12 four’s whereas 5 big one’s that took Elmech’s total beyond 200. Also Tushar and Tarun’s handy 33 and 29 run innings helped Elmech’s score reaching a humongous total of 214 in 20 overs. Team Vrc’s bowlers were thrashed at every single corner of the ground. In fact VRC’s best bowler Bhupal Singh had an economy rate of 7. When Team Vrc came to chase everyone expected to see at least a fight from them but it was other way round. Elmech’s clinical bowling saw Team Vrc getting bowled out at just 80 with 5 overs still remaining. Deepanshu Sirohi was Elmech’s best bowler with the bowling figures of 3 for 21.
Second game on Saturday saw Kei Wires and Cables defeating Apex Floral by just 9 runs in a closely fought contest. Chasing 126 in the second innings Apex Floral fell short of the target by 9 runs. With Aman Deep being their highest scoring batsman at 25, Apex Floral couldn’t get partnerships going and that cost them at last. Kei Wire’s Amb Gupta picked up 3 wickets to win the game for his team.
Sunday brought different levels of excitement amongst the crowd as 3 games were played on the day. First match was contested between EBS and Argania where EBS just edged Argania in a nail biting contest by 4 runs. Virendra Singh’s half century in the first innings for EBS took their total to 113 in 20 overs which looked well under par. But Kapil Sharma’s blistering bowling attack saw Argania struggling to chase this small target of 114. Kapil picked 4 for 19 which was also well supported by Arun Yadav who also struck thrice to pile miseries over Argania. At last Argania fell short of the target by just 4 runs and Kapil Sharma was awarded the man of the match award.
The last two games on Sunday were little bit one sided affairs as Reindia and Kassanova defeated AIOL and Fighter XI respectively. Reindia gave a target of 165 for AIOL to chase which AIOL was unable to chase and were left short by 17 runs. Reindia’s Vikram Yadav’s 40 off 22 balls won him the man of the match award. In the last game Kassanova bowled Fighter XI at just 85 with Anurag and Sunny both picking up 3 wickets each. With only 85 on the board Kassanova chased the score in just 11.3 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Deepanshu played a good inning of 41 runs in 27 balls to win the game for his side. Anurag won the Man of the Match award after his 3 wickets for 9 runs.
